Custom Fitting Process

What you can Expect in the Store.

When you visit our store,  you can expect that we will have the style and size of shoe in which you are interested.  You will be properly fitted with a shoe and you
will leave the store with your new shoes the same day.

Proper Fittings:

When Z-CoiL® shoes are properly fitted, they can provide substantial, if not complete relief for many painful conditions affecting the feet, ankles, knees, hips, and back. At Z-CoiL pain relief footwear, we make every effort to educate you about the unique design of our footwear, and help you select the style that is most appropriate for your daily activities.

Please allow approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour for your custom fitting.

Custom Fitting While You Wait:

  • The right sized shoe for the shape of your feet.  We make sure you have adequate toe room, and that the ball of your foot is properly aligned with the flex line of the shoe.
  • Proper arch support.   We examine the shape of your foot to make sure you have the most comfortable level of support the shoes can provide. The built-in Z-OrthoticTM can be adjusted to support high arches, flat feet, or normal arches.
  • Custom adjustments can be made for special issues such as bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, calluses, corns, warts, plantar fasciitis & metatarsal pain.  Many have received pain relief from arthritis & other common joint pains, lower back pain and knee pain.
  • Adjustments for pronation and supination.   We'll watch the way you walk in your Z-CoiL footwear and make adjustments to help compensate for your feet rolling in (over-pronation) or rolling out (over-supination).
  • Selecting the appropriate coil strength.   Z-CoiL® footwear can provide substantial pain relief through impact reduction. We will evaluate the amount of compression you are experiencing in your Z-CoiL footwear and select the coil strength that is best for you, whether you weigh 100 pounds or 350+ pounds.  We have small, medium, large and extra large coils to accomodate for different body weights.  And, each coil has three settings, a standard setting, a soft setting and a firm setting.


Free Adjustments for the Lifetime of Your Footwear:

The beauty of our footwear is that they are widely adjustable for addressing a wide variety of painful conditions. Pain can also shift, and in most cases we can readjust the footwear to make them more comfortable, at any time after the inital fitting. So, if at any time you ever experience joint pain or discomfort in your Z-CoiL® shoes, you can bring the footwear back to our store for free adjustments. 

Whenever you purchase a pair of Z-CoiL® footwear, all future adjustments to the shoes are provided free of charge. Our goal is to achieve and maintain the best fit possible for our customers, for the lifetime of your footwear.

Free Coil Replacements for the Lifetime of Your Footwear (if broken):

If either of the coils of your Z-CoiLs breaks during the lifetime of your shoe, we will replace both coils, free of charge (shipping charge to Albuquerque applies).

When can you be Fitted?

For Z-CoiL New Purchase Custom Fitting and Returning Adjustments, please arrive no later than 1 hour before closing to allow for sufficient fitting time.  Thank You!  Please click on "Store Hours" at the bottom of this page for our hours.


The best time to come, to be fitted,  is at the store opening in the mornings or shortly thereafter.  At that time we are less likely to be busy and you are more likely to get fitted and on your way with the least amount of interruption.  The middle of the day is when we can be the busiest in terms of the number of customers in the store.


Towards the end of the work day, it is strongly suggested that you arrive at least 1 hour before closing, for full fittings.


And, by the way, be sure to bring your favorite pair of socks or at least the ones you are planning to wear with your Z-CoiLs.

Broken Coils – There is no charge for replacing broken coils (must have all parts of the coil to be returned to Z-CoiL, Corp.) 
We will ship the broken coil to Z-CoiL, Corp.  The shipping cost to sent to Z-CoiL is $8.75 (per pair) of open coils & $11.75
per pair of enclosed coils.
